I like the manner in which you filled the image with the owl (both the eyes and the texturing of the plumage jump into prominence), the coloring and patterning of the plumage and the clarity of detailing. The white bordering brings a completed clean feel to the image. |

A striking image of the jumping spider with clarity of detailing, a sense of texturing from the hairs on the body of the spider and a strong contrast (giving a 3D feel to the picture) between the spider and the surrounding construction paper and leaf. |

You managed the exposure so nicely with that harsh sunlight streaming down. The driver looks like he could use a little more time in the marching unit to burn off a little fat so his uniform would fir a little looser. I love the energy you captured with these very spirited horses. |

The toning brings a vintage feel to the picture which works with the inclusion of the felucca sailing along the Nile River. A view today that one could well imagine would also have been true thousands of years ago. jan bjorklund jeen44@shaw.ca |

I like the sense of the sea that is created by the buoys in the foreground, the sense of flow that is created from the buoys to the boat and then out over the harbour to the distant sunset sky, and the coloring in the sky which serves to balance with the darker hues in the foreground (I find myself wanting to crop down slightly in the image to eliminate some of the over exposed feel towards the upper left hand corner). jan bjorklund jeen44@shaw.ca |

The contrast between the men and the horses and the surrounding greenery works to bring a 3D feel to the image... one can almost imagine movement forward through the image right into the lap of the viewer. Particularly struck by the horses... their dressage... their pose with the implied movement... their coloring (the feathering of white on their fetlocks almost looks as if it has been painted... so white and clean). |

Just trying imagine this fellow in a helmet with that beard enclosed within the helmet... it has to be hot. Another interesting image, for me, from the re-enactment you were photographing. |
