The slight mist adds a wonderful moody feel to the lone tree. There is a strong painterly feel to your composition which adds to the visual impact of the picture. I like further like the muted colors in the foreground and the ghostly feel of the distant trees showing through the mist (missed them on a first view of the picture). The black background color of the viewing page doesn't work with every posted image but in this case that black background adds to the visual impact of the image.

Love the long shadows Jan. We have a windy day here and a high expected of 23 and still I won't go out, my frail lungs protest.

Something we don't have in Australia John, rather unique.

Great shot for the them Jan. I have vivid memories of sitting on a piece of cardboard changing points on a plough back in the days when the chap I worked for still ploughed before planting seed. Barked knuckles and freezing conditions.

Richard, nothing wrong technically with your picture, but I feel you need something a little more interesting for your reflected image.

I like the middle third of this image with the actual tree above and the reflection picked up so cleanly in the water without the foreground shoreline and with that middle third being in the sunlight.

The look left and look right signage on the street is a good idea except so many people nowadays are only looking at their smartphones and stepping out in the street without looking either way.

I've seen so many people who have been pulled up by another pedestrian before stepping right into traffic with their eyes and mind fixated on their smartphone.

Like the shadow of the lamp post and the tire marks on the pavement and the bloke in green is looking left!
Best regards

Interesting take on the theme Dave.
