I am nearly as busy now as I was when I was working full time. Trained as nurse then at age 49 I went to art college full time and followed that with university, to study in design and illustration. 5 years of great fun. I am inordinately proud of my BA(hons) as it represents a great deal of work with even more self discovery. I belong to the local arts society, and I write edit produce a monthly newsletter for the over 50's community centre. I also lead the digital camera club there , although I couldn't be said to teach them. I have also been writing a novel about my 3x great grandmother an 1820 Settler in SA.
I have been taking photos for over 40 years, learned photography the old fashioned way but since I went digital I have really got hooked. Its great to be able to throw away dodgy shots straight away, and try again. Many of my photos include water, maybe because I live by it or maybe its the age old fascination or possibly an intense curiosity to see what the camera will capture this time. |
