I live in London where I was born, lived and worked all my life (so far). I regard this as a penance for some dastardly deed committed in a former life and I would much rather be in Cumbria.
I've been taking photos and processing my own film and prints for around 45 years and I'm still learning.
Gear I currently use:
Nikon cameras: D300 DX & D700 FX, Nikon SB800 flash (hardly ever used) and Nikon MB-D10 battery grip.
Lenses I use:
Walk around all-purpose zoom lens: Tamron 28-300mm VC.
Nikon prime lenses: 35mm f2, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 180mm f2.8.
Sigma 17-35mm F2.8, Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 & Sigma 50-500mm - the latter mainly used for safari trips and bird and general wildlife photography.
I also use a Manfrotto tripod and monopod and a lightweight Benro Travel Angel tripod for travel.
Software I use is, Nikon Capture NX2 for all my primary work and raw conversions with additional processing as necessary in Adobe CS5 with Nik Colour Efex Pro and Nik Silver Efex Pro plugins.
I'm mainly a landscape, wildlife and travel photographer but I'm also very fond of old buildings and ruins or anything older than me really (it makes me feel secure)  and candid people pics. I like to think that I take advantage of any photo op that presents itself.
I firmly believe that all the best English countryside, history and villages (perhaps excepting Dorset), are in the north of the country along with the best people.
