The summer would not be my preference to visit Yosemite NP, but sometimes you cannot choose your season. I am glad I went.

I have driven by it, but never gone in :-) A gorgeous image Gary! So good to see you here at PC!

A view that never ceases to fascinate me... I like your use of the facing rock cliffs across the valley to help draw the eyes of the viewer through the image, the sunlight highlighting the rock formation and the resulting contrast between the relative lightness of the rock formation and the more darkened foliage in the valley (just seems to make the rock formations on either side of the picture stand out strongly).

This would reaaalllly look good in b&w! Ooops. I think it's been done. Your color version, standing in what appears to be the exact same spot, is wondrous to see. Who among us could resist?

We drove through Yosemite about 20 years ago but I wasn't into photography then as I am now. But your capture popped an image right out of my memory. Especially like the endless DOF and the view of El Capitan in the distance. A big piece of eye candy!

Hi Gary and welcome to PC.
I've heard that permits to visit Yosemite are hard to come by so I would visit whenever I could.
Scenes like this well composed picture would encourage me to go.
Don't forget you can post LARGE here. Up to 1600 pixels.

Hi Gary, One of my favorite views. I think you stood on my footprints here. There is more waterfall activity in the spring, but it's always a great shot.
Thanks for commenting on my Cattleya Orchids shot.
Regards, Allen
