Brave souls canoeing in Caddo Lake. I didn't personally see any snakes, but I promise you they were there. The spanish mossed trees are grayish in nature so I just monotoned the image and layer masked the color back into the colorful canoe occupants.

Your processing of the picture really helps to make the two canoeists and their canoe to stand out strongly in the image (save to say a 3D feel in my mind). The reflective quality of the water adds to the picture while the darkened nature of the Spanish Moss trees adds an eerie feel to the image.

Nice processing Gary, Such an interesting place to paddle. I'm sure the snakes were there also, they like staying in the trees. Not a place to be after dark.

I've reported the images to admin, but my guess is they are asleep. It's 3 am in England.

Depending on the time of year, the trees themselves might be colorful, though the canoeists (?) wouldn't stand out as much.

I've e-mailed the administrate much earlier this evening and I have reported all three images. If they aren't gone soon I will be!

Now for your image Gary, bringing back the color of the folks and their reflection made great depth is your composition! Jim and I have to get there one day, but stay on land!

Hi Gary
Like the others I have reported the 3 images hopefully they will be removed shortly. Good capture with good exposure and details, I also like the selective coloring.

There were the same type images uploaded last week - I think it very well might be the same person doing it and they choose to do it when the Admin team is asleep. Disgusting. This capture sends chills down my spine - those folks are so brave. I'll bet there is a skillery skallery alligator just licking his chops waiting for the right moment to gobble them up.

I am not a great fan of selective color, but here it works well for me; being fairly familiar with swamps this really gives the impression of that rather dark scary world, with the canooers leaving the sun and venturing in. I was on the site last night when the offending posts were made, and I reported them immediately. in order to report them, I had to open them, so I think that that would be why there were several 'views', as others were doing the same thing.

Perfect use of the canoe heading into that scarey swamp. A snake dropping from a tree wouldn't be fun.

I like the processing you've done here; really adds to the spooky feel of the swampland and the invading canoe and occupants. Composition and placement of elements is excellent as well.
Thanks,
Wilt

Good handling of color. The monotone gives the swamp a real foreboding look and feel, and the color emphasizes that the canoeists are out of place,or outsiders. I was about to ask if there were water moccasins in Arkansas, but I see that the Lake is a bit further south.

Nice photo here with the nice colors and the B&W. I might have cropped out some of the dark trees to the left as, I really think they are much too dark and take away from the photo!

Gerry, Yes, there are plenty of water "cotton mouth" moccasins in Arkansas and it makes me cringe just thinking about them.
PoohBear-I selectively burned the trees on the left to place emphasis on the canoers. Just my style.

Your chosen form of processing has created an excellent result Gary. The canoe and paddlers nicely situated in the frame and the trees DDING S
