The lightness of the water serves as a strong backdrop for the Short-billed Dowitcher helping to bring out the detailing in the plumage as well as enhancing the texturing of both the Dowitcher's plumage as well as the log it is perched on.

I wonder who dreamed up all these ridiculous names for birds!
Good focus again on this one.
You might like to think about taking some vertical images when birds are perched like this. Obviously you could crop this but that would reduce the resolution before sizing and thus reduce image quality.

Colors and details looks good, well focused.
This comp works, but Vic's suggestion is a good one..
Only way to get on that magazine cover someday too Wink
