I like the perspective with the head level view of the cardinal, the contrast between the red cardinal and the background which serves to make the fellow stand out strongly in the image, and the inclusion of the primrose and the reflective counterparts of the primrose and the cardinal.

Now this is a composition made in Heaven - that's for sure. It has a wonderful painterly look to it and the saturation is over the rainbow. The gentle ripples around this beautiful cardinal provide a subtle framing for him too. The world is a much richer and more beautiful place because of the gorgeous captures you take and share.

A lovely wash and brush up for this beautifully exposed cardinal; he is looking at his reflection as we look in a mirror when we are cleaning up!

This is a favorite for me. The composition with the cardinal surrounded by water, rock, primrose, and reflections includes everything one could want. Wonderful detail on the cardinal and his expression is priceless. Excellent job!

Nice image. Can't get one of these up here. Cardinals are way too skittish.

I'd be happy to offer it a home if your year round guest ever wants a foreign vacation.
One of the best things about actively encouraging wildlife into one's garden is that one can learn where and how to setup to capture images of subjects which have less fear than those outside of the garden environment.
Familiar gear and the skill and knowledge to use it well, familiar surroundings and a settled and obliging subject gets great pictures like this.
Super image Howard.

Another superb image Howard. The catchlight and reflection captured well and such fine detail. Well done,
