For this week's Sunday theme. I had taken this image a couple of seconds before a previously posted image called CN train and curlers and I had been looking for a reason to post it and this week's theme gave me that excuse.

This shot was taken during the Ironman Curling Bonspiel on February 8, 2009. I was photographing the curlers when the CN freight crossed the bridge... not an opportunity to be missed.

And there was one of the curlers pointing at either the train or trying to direct one of the curlers where to aim their rock.

And added plus of a blast of coolness on a hot weekend.

I think this is a wonderful photograph; A great shot of the curlers in deep discussion, and the train passing overhead; I love this processing which makes it look like a picture from an old magazine and it fits the theme; he certainly 'pointed' at something!

Outstanding post processing, Jan. Looks like a magical pastel with perfectly defined edges. Looks like a serious curling competition going on here.

I like all that's going on in this shot, so much to see and study.

You have caught an interesting pause in the action, and the train adds to the interest.

Lots to see in this picture.
I do feel it lacks contrast which a slight S curves remedies. It also has a blueish tint - not unusual in snow scenes, which robs it of colour. Using colour balance for highlights, midtones and shadows and edging the sliders from blue and cyan towards red and yellow just a touch, restores the lovely colours of this image.

So much going on on this image, and well exposed and beautifully composed-----almost a Norman Rockwell moment if not for the modern clothes----lovely to look at Jan----Lynne

A busy scene Jan, good colour and a worthy submission to the theme. Another of your images I find has a comic book appearance,
