From my garden. It's been a long time, but we finally have a rose in bloom. Warm weather and it bloomed in the morning, full bloom by evening and gone the next day.

The perfect time to capture a rose - just as it begins to open.

I love the perspective oon this beautiful rose. the shadows along the edge of the unfolded petals have provided in depth details. Now if you could only include a measure of the rich and strong perfume coming from the center......

I really like the manner in which your presented your first rose and the quality of the lighting playing over the petals of the rose... there is a moody dreamlike quality to the composition and I could see this image hanging on the wall with a white border of some width to set off the picture.

Gorgeous Lou,is this Mr. Lincoln? I have one red rose and it has had 2 blooms and they go fast. I gave up trying to photograph the red one.

Thanks all, for your comments. Pat, this is not a red rose and I don't know the name. It was here when I moved in. It's more orange/red and it may be the ND and flash combo that returned the more red look. I did not play with the color at all.

I like the warm feeling and beautiful rich color. Would make a great greeting card. Nice work.

Beautiful, I love the soft lighting here and the textural detail is superb, very nicely composed and captured and it looks stunning on the black site background.

Thank you for posting
Kind regards Helen
