I moved into a downtown apartment which forbid pets and tenants with cats and dogs were being caught by the landlord knocking on apartment doors with dogs barking and cats mewing. Ferrets did nothing but stare at the doorknob and so I started with two ferrets named Frankie and Johnny. Johnny (aka Nipper) being an albino ferret with red eyes, a short temper and very sharp teeth. This is, of course, Johnny.

Worked in Photoshop saturate red +60. Brush strokes (black intensity 6, white intensity 2). Channel mixer red +200%, blue -100%. Then saturate all colors +50.

I tried adjusting the contrast to varying degrees and I can see having the image lighter with more emphasis caught in the eyes but I like the image as is with the hot area on the forehead given less emphasis and creating a sense for me of the ferret moving rapidly forward.

Fourteen years since I gave up my ferrets to a ferret adoption agency. I found that a bad back and ferrets didn't mix.

Nice work. Those red eyes are something else. Really a devilish look. I like the processing that you did on this. I think you achieved the feel you were after very well.

First I would like to say i do love ferrets lol, very nosey little creatures but indeed that do pack a fair old bite.

Love the PP work you have done on this shot Jan, it really gives it an abstract almost evil feel intersting how you can enhance the character of a subject with such work very creative, nice work.

Thank you for posting.

That's a nightmare alright. I had a close encounter with a rat last week and this is bring back bad memories. Ferrets are cute (even though they are illegal in parts of NY)I would love to have one but my cats would love it more.
Good job Jan.

Interesting processing Jan which has been successful in bringing a demonic look to the ferrets face. I would love one but my other pets would not,
