Tonight the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals clinched the National League Wildcard. So they will be playing at least one more game and Rich and I are VERY VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT. We were on the edge of our seats watching the Atlanta Braves play the Phillies and the game was tied and went into extra innings. If the Braves lost then that would mean that the Cardinals would not have to play a tiebreaker and that they were the sole winners of the National League Wild Card!!! Nothing beats living in a city where your team brings home a prize. Cardinal Nation is a very happy place. Tomorrow I will go down to the center of town to take a picture of the fountains in the center of town - where the water spouting there will be Cardinal Red!!!! WAAA-HOOOOOOOOO.

Atlanta was shocked in post game interviews. I have been a baseball fan many years and I never remember such a close closing on the season. We in Texas are in the same boat and so happy the Texas Rangers have been playing some great ball. Our depth is what has been the mainstay. Hopefully Diane we can play your St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. Whoa-just the sound is sweetness to our ears. Super night shot.

Congratulations ! I was thinking of you last nighjt, as the Red Sox blew the largest lead in Baseball history and went from contesting first place to losing the Wild Card. Being a Red Sox fan is not easy Sad

I like the colors, the contrast and your perspective with the eyes of the viewer being led around the stadium from the fans in the immediate foreground through the fireworks to the lights. The dropped shadow effect works well with this composition of Saint Louis clinching the National League wildcard.

I used to love baseball but once the Dodgers left Brooklyn and the Giants left for the West Coast I just lost interest in the game. The Brooklyn Dodgers were my team all through high school and... well that was another life time.

In my misery over the Red Sox I didn't comment on your beautiful photo, well done.

I guess once again Cleveland are not there. Super shot Diane, full of colour and interest and very well captured. When I see shots like this I feel just a little bit sad that there is no baseball in Tasmania. Back in Western Australia I umpired junior and senior baseball for around 15 years,
