Another from Wednesday nights shoot at Salford Quays. This is the grand entrance to the Lowry Theatre.

In 1988, a new arts centre, based at Pier 8, was proposed to raise the cultural profile of the city and bring more businesses and tourism into the area. Salford City Council commissioned the internationally famous architects James Stirling and Michael Wilford [ link ] to produce designs for the arts centre. Stirling died suddenly in 1992, and Michael Wilford was confirmed as architect. Lottery funding was secured, building began in April 1997, and was completed three years later.

So many interesting shapes and forms caught between the Lowry Theatre on the left and the highrise structures on the right. The colors, the lights and the forms of the Theatre really work to hold my attention.

Super modern architectural shot, with great lines and angles and well controlled, vivid colour.

A difficult exposure but you got a good result. Nice to see the necessary verticals corrected which gives the viewer a truer perspective of the unusual angles of the classy architecture.
Good work Phil.

Sparkling, crisp exposure and you composed it so uniquely. Want to crawl into my monitor and walk over and take a seat inside.
