This pic is my favorite of all you've ever posted. Especially love the feathers on his head and how the breeze is blowing them over to one side. But his ignoring the little bottom feeder as he grazes around his feet is PRICELESS!!!

I can't agree with either of the above commentators Both these pictures are overexposed, and you have lost too much detail in the feathers; it is a real challenge in the sun to capture these birds. Had I taken the shot, and it may not have been the right way, I would have had an exposure in excess of 1200, an f# around 6, and if I was not in auto ISO, it would have been around 200. If the pictures were too dark, I would just have lifted the birds enough for them to stand out, and for them to have detail in their plumage.

Good luck to catch the egret and piper together. The egret look like it is having a bad hair day. It must be all the wind we are having lately.
