I love dogwood and I love this image. Perfect exposure, one of those you frame and put on your wall..... or sell.. Thanks, Lou

I like the symmetrical feel of the composition with the contrast between the white of the Kousa Dogwood flower and the black background of the image serving to make the flower visually "pop" for me. The clarity of detailing helps to enhance the visual impact of the picture.

A very pretty tree, although I have only seen pink ones. I love the composition, but I have a problem with macro work on small flowers. To me they start to look waxy and a bit unreal. Thanks for the fave !

Gillie, this is the asian 'kousa' dogwood. Brought to the States in the early 1900s. I saw my first at the Smith College campus.

Yes, very easy to grow and flowers about a month later than the 'flowering dogwood'. I have only seen them up north, in pink, although I believe they do grow in Florida.

Oh Rachel, this is soooooooo pristine. I love your exposure and details - especially the parchment like see thru of the petals with all the details there were still intact. I've seen these in the woods in Missouri but never realized they were Kousa dogwood. Absolutely gorgeous.
