This was quite sad as I think his mom had died and he kept on calling for her. I phoned the 'seal man'. but he didnt take my calls.. so I had to leave him. Didn't feel good about it

A sad and heart rending story there, I am too soft there is just no way I could have walked away and left it. Nice close crop here but you do seem to have some problems with lighting and the focas is a little off.

Thank you for posting

Kind regards Helen

Thanks for the comments Helen..yes the lighting was difficult as it was mid day and the sun was extremely bright on the rocks and on him. Sometimes with my camera it battles to focus on what I want it to even if I put it onto manual focus. Any hints on this problem?
Unfortunately in this country, if you phone the conservation guys they actually put the seal pups down which is why I phoned the 'seal man'.Alas he didnt take my call and I had no other option but to walk away, praying that his mama came back

Hi Nici

Just read your note about the camera focusing in bright light. I dont use a Nikon myself so I cant really help there, but why dont you pop note into forum and see if someone can come up with an answer for you. It might take a little while to get a reply as we dont have that many members but I am sure someone will be able to help you.
