This has always been on my "Bucket List" of Lighthouses to photograph. Imagine my surprise when I saw the sign for it and did not even realize I was in the neighborhood :-) Of course we headed there straight away and had a good old time taking pictures and seagull watching!

A cooperative model and a good sky too!

I really the DOF in this image from the foreground seagull through to the Nubble Lighthouse. I can easily see this image enlarged, framed and hanging large on someone's wall... the image is beautiful with clarity of detailing, a range of texturing and the sense of place (sure ain't the Prairies).

I find myself wanting to crop this image slightly (from the left edge to eliminate the wiring we see in that portion of the picture and from the right edge to where the railing meets the lower edge) but that is just a personal preference and the image as posted in truly eyecatching.

It looks good from your viewpoint perched high on the rocks - even the seagull looks impressed.
For me, cropping would leave an uncomfortable image ratio but cloning would improve matters if you're not averse to such dastardly practice.

Nice sharp photo of one of my favorite subjects. The gull seems to be keeping an eye on you.
