Small party cakes for members of a trek we took in the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois last Thursday. It was Dorothy's birthday.

Hello there and a very warm welcome to PC

This image is absolutely mouth watering!! superb sharp detail and tasty texure too. Nice close crop and I like the angle. One small thing I know its a birthday shot but I would have either included all of the candle of cloned it out as only half is showing and its distracting me from those tasty cakes.

Thank you for posting and I look forward to seeing more of your work
Kind regards Helen

OUTSDTANDING exposure with crisp, bright saturation throughout. The DOF is bang on. This capture would be a perfect candidate for the cover of a Deserts magazine. Agree with Helkoryo about cropping the candle.

This shot has all the necessary ingredients Smile Great colour rendition, great composition (except the inclusion of the candle)...makes you long to have a bite. would have named this shot "Sweet Rainbow" Well done!!

The vibrant colors and clarity here are the two "tasty" ingredients that make the viewers to keep on staring on the cakes and hoping that the eyes would magnet them from the monitor screen Smile Seriously, I do agree with Diane here, a perfect candidate for the cover of a Deserts magazine!

Beautiful vibrant colors! Slight loss of focus to the bottom right. I'd try to get rid of the left corner with tighter cropping (it's bit distracting...) Keep shooting - I like the way you look at things. Regards. Cecil

hello Rene,
Dorothy's birthday will be coming up again soon. I love the colour and graphic design here. So lush and yes, perfect for a desserts magazine. I am really struggling with masks and channels this week in Adobe. Joni
