Taken in Hatfield Forest the other week,
Fantastic Toadstools in a field....about 22cm high.
Low viewpoint to allow close focus and include some field and sky for scale.
Fuji X20.

I like the perspective you adopted for this photograph, the sense of texturing and the contrast between the mushroom's color and the background greenery which serves to make the mushroom stand out strongly in the image.


If it weren't for the stem one has the sense from your low perspective of viewing a moth at rest (there is a fold on the head of the mushroom which works to create that illusion for me).

Would love to know the F stop and shutter speed you used here. It looks to be bang on - love that DOF with the toadstool in sharp focus and the background just a touch soft. Nicely done - love those details.

Great perspective, allowing the mushroom to look very large, giving us an ant's view of this fungus.
