Side Door at the Happy Cooker

This picture came to mind when I passed the Happy Cooker and noticed the side door had been repainted a solid brown.


Interesting patterning on the side door of the Happy Cooker caught my eye. I didn't have to do anything with this picture except to crop out the handle on the door. I like the perceptual sensation of ground/figure with first the white and then the black alternating as foreground and background... just seems to keep oscillating back and forth as the viewer looks at the picture. And it helps that it is in black and white.

Reminds me of a ying yang image. Good eye, Jan, did they have a door knob? Your framing completes the artistry for this image and showcases it to the max.

I can see this image orientated either way up as a landscape but my brain won't compute it in portrait mode. No doubt that says something about me!

I'm with Vic on the landscape bit...dont know why perhaps its something to do with the way paint drips....who knows. Talkin of who knows...why this design on the door???
