Last seen here, [ link ], Tinka is now one year old and no less spoilt. A dreary day with cloud cover and using my chosen processing I managed to get some colour and detail in his face.

My apologies for my absence of late, apart from some minor health problems I have been attempting to get a gallery of larger images up and running. All my images seen here and elsewhere up until now have been taken at 2048x1536; the new size will be 3200x2400, had I known the difference in detail, I would have changed the size well before now.

Adjust - Smart Photo Fix
Adjust - Hue and Saturation - Hue Map Saturation shift 10, Lightness shift (-5)
Adjust - Backlighting - Strength 20, saturation 5
Adjust - Brightness and Contrast - Clarify, strength of effect 1
Adjust Digital Camera Noise Removal - Noise correction 15, correction blend 70, sharpening 0.00
Cropped, added border and resized

Excellent portrait pose. Good focus, DOF en color. The BG is very distracting and interferes with the composition - too many coincidental objects. I'd also try to lighten the irsises of the eyes to get some contrast with the pupils. I love this format of dog - perfect companions Smile

Hi David,

Tinka seems to like being spoilt - I love Tinka's pose and indeed I think I would have been tempted to try to create an all blue BG, when you upload this one in the WS I can try to do just that and show you the resulting image.

With my new camera I also used a large format and it really helps bringing out more detail, you then can - small step at a time - go back to a smaller size for uploading with 1600 pixels wide.

Your image is very wonderful - Els, WS, is very artistic and wonderful, as well.

Congratulations to both of you, for your excellent and educational work.

I am not that ken on pet shots but I must admit this is special, the clarity and exposure are superb as is the dogs pose,The blue split down the centre of his head is a little distracting maybe a case of masking and making all the B/G blue.

Fabulous detail, sharpness and great capture of a great doggie expression. I'm trying to get my cats to look at us that way to no avail. Wink
Nice work on this, and a very creative ws too, Els.

Thanks for the comments, in hindsight I should have spent the time that Els did on reworking the background. Anyone who has had anything at all to do with a Jack Russell will know that you grab the photo when the pose is offered.
