Peony Bristol ruby.
Another from my almost bare garden.
The peony flower is fairly short lived with each individual bloom at its best for just a couple of days but for those few days they outshine everything else in the garden.

Wow, the ruby red of the peony really stands out strongly against the balance of the colors in the garden. Living in an apartment I find my floral photography depends on the City of Winnipeg to plant their flowers before I can start shooting the colors and forms of the blossoms they wish to plant each year. The dirt has been turned but the flowers have not gone in as yet. We have such a short growing season.

This is a perfect example of a text book executed macro. The saturation is spot on with bright whites and deep red without either going over the line. Sensational, Vic! I wholeheartedly agree with you about the short blooming time of these peonies. We have a row of them in our yard too and what I love about them the most is the strong perfume fragrance - no other bloom can even come close to that.

Hi Vic,
beautiful colour, well captured....as you know I know next to nothing about flowers...in fact I am banned from the garden with shears...or anything cutty.. :-)
But this does look like a good un.

Lovely red Vic, something the Olympus could never do well,

PS The Olympus is dead as of 29th May. 11 years and 11 months it lasted so it did well.
