Been over Bushy park this morning and the Coots are starting to get frisky I have seen them chasing each other but I have never seen them fighting with there legs and feet

I've never seen coots fighting before either and those feet do look rather formidable when one expands the image.

I think if you had set your shutter speed to at least 1/800 of a second you would have captured more detail of these coots - especially their feet. You did capture the splashing water but those feet were just too fast for the 1/400 of a second speed on your Canon. Great subject that gives us a peek into the world of these low profile birds.

Great shot of most unusual Coot behaviour, great pity it isn't sharper.
