Autumn on the Red River Walkway

The woodland in my region often times is confined to a narrow band along a river... move any distance from the rivers and one finds nothing but grasslands and farmland.

This image was taken last autumn on the Red River Walkway. It was an autumn day in the middle of October 2015 and it was one of those autumn days when one wants to find a little color before the fall winds bring the leaves down.

That is not a bland sky in the distance but rather the side of a large industrial building.

This is a really nice picture Jan - more than painterly - impressionist and ideal for the subject.

I do love the DOF here .... as my eye travels under the overhanging bright fall branches and drifts into the area beyond I start day dreaming. Very powerful effect, Jan.
