While out on my deck today I looked down and saw a robin's nest tucked neatly under the edge of the overhang of the flooring above. Mrs. Robin was below in the yard getting some breakfast but she wasn't gone long and quickly came back to sit on her nest. I'll keep an eye out every day to see if I can catch another when the babies are making lots of noise with their beaks open waiting for some goodies.

Those blue robin's eggs really stand out in the image. I often wonder with vividly colored eggs such as the robin how predators might see that color... if they stand out to us humans whose only interest is to see the baby birds how are they seen by other birds and perhaps the answer lies with your comment of the mother robin being absent from her nest but quickly returning.

A very neat and strong looking nest and such beautifully coloured eggs. I expect to see pictures as the youngsters grow.

What a wonderful surprise for you Diane! I am sure you were thrilled that the bird selected this spot just for you and your photography! I shall look forward to further pictures.

Nice and close to home too Diane. A pretty blue, lovely detail. I love the edges of the boards, my Mother's verandah/deck was the same,
