.... which takes place annually over the May Day W/E to mark the old Pagan festivals of the new summer. This is totally the wrong time of year for new harvest pictures in the northern hemisphere so marking the start of the growing year like this will have to do.
Anyway - there are always characters at the festival which has over 50 Sweeps, Morris, Jack in the Green and other Folk type dance groups and singers plus some from Europe. They are all over the Rochester Castle grounds and the Cathedral Green and every 30 yards along the Dickensian Rochester High street. No chance of going hungry or thirsty either with all the food and drinks on offer along with many craft stalls, stages, a traditional funfair and a children's circus training area. Best sunny day of the year so far on Saturday too.

You Brits sure know how to have fun and cut loose. WHAT A SHOT!!! And he can play the accordian too! I love his glasses and makeup - and you didn't miss any details - they are all there and perfectly defined. Your DOF is text book perfect. Made me smile just looking at him - and I needed cheering up after Little Louie disappeared.

Any picture with an accordion of any description is a winner in my eyes... goes back to my youth when I had to learn to play the accordion so I could play Swedish music... that worked for a while until I discovered no-one liked accordion except for my mother. How I wish she would have made me take guitar lessons.

WOW - a great shot and the Festival sounds like the place to be for people photography. Where do all these eccentric people come from? Good thing we have festivals for them to express themselves.
