Another couple at the Rochester Sweeps Festival. This guys hat actually smoked and whistled and various lights flashed and bits revolved on front and back - the kids all loved it.
I maxed out the shutter speed at 1/4000 - in fact, this was very slightly over-exposed so I had to switch from mechanical to mechanical/electronic shutter which allows me to shoot up to 1/32000 but I have to be careful the subject is not moving too fast or strange effects take place due to the "rolling shutter effect".

Oh yes, these two make a perfectly matched set. That stovepipe hat is a WORK OF ART. But these two still can't hold a candle to that class act of the guy you posted first with the star shaped spectacles. He's a class act.

Obviously the Rochester Sweep Festival is an event that allows for your skill as a portrait photographer to shine through. Well detailed (especially with all the artifacts on the man's stovepipe hat) with the contrast once again between the pair and the background serving to create the illusion of movement in the image.

"Steam Punk" style appears to be very popular, and at a Festival like this I expect there would be lots of similar styles.
