This guy modelled for a group of us - great character and lovely personality. He was stood against a red brick wall which I didn't like and his hood was RED - it didn't work!!
In working on the picture, I added just a touch of TOPAZ adjust and gave him a new background

Boy there is a lot of character caught in the man's face... the beard, the wrinkles in the skin and the eyes all work hand in hand to build up a character and I think converting to b&w was the way to go. Leaving the image in color would have drawn the viewer's eyes to the red hoodie and away from the character in that face.

Love the detail here and I think you did absolutely the right thing in dropping out the colour. Really nicely composed and I also love the detail on the cracked background
