Taken in the Cairngorms in Scotland. Not what one would expect to see in Scotland, but I understand a small herd of Reindeer were imported into Scotland some years ago and the rom freely on these mountains. Taken with a long lens from the cog railway taking me down from the mountain top.

I would never have associated Scotland with reindeer and especially roaming free in the wild. We have a large herd in our local zoo but nothing like seeing the creature in the wild.

Wish you had posted this in a higher pixel format so it could be blown up larger to view the details. I really like the perspective of this reindeer with the light gently outlining his frame. Looks to me like he could take the lead on Santa's sleigh in December. Smile

Reindeer in Scotland! I would have never guessed. Nice view of this guy with a good view of the countryside too.

You did well under the circumstances John. A flush of purple/blue in the distance from the heather. I agree with Diane, larger would have been better.
