Taken on Sunday just gone at in Bushy park a female fallow deer in the frosty bracken there were a number of deer under the branches of a tree and they were just starting to look for food in the bracken and grassy areas you can see how cold it had been by the frost on the bracken and on the doe's back

well seen and well captured with the darkened form of the female fallow deer standing out against the frost covered foliage surrounding the creature... alert stance with the deer

Close Richard - it is a deer - but it's a Roe deer not Fallow and it's a first year buck (male). Good capture in the frosty ferns. It really was cold there wasn't it.
I'm starting to get mobile again so I might venture out to Richmond. A shame Bushy park is the wrong side of Kingston town center for me unless I come all the way around the A3 to Esher and back past Hampton Court.

It does look a bit crunchy Richard. Good clear shot what ever sex it is. A chap in New South Wales is in hospital following an attack by stags which were after his pet heard of female fallows.
