Rich and myself in "The Nugget" saloon in Deadwood, south Dakota. This bar is an original from the 1880 days when Deadwood was a wild west town with a rough and vigorous atmosphere and Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane and Vineger Bill roamed the area. Note: The area in the upper left where there is a second floor with a railing is where the Dance Hall Girls used to stand and becken to the customers below to come up and learn to "crochet" and many other things Smile
What really amazes me about all the very ornate bars in Deadwood was that all the wood for them had to be hauled in wagons by horses for a long distance over very rough roads to this tiny mining town to be put in place.

One can only surmise that the gold in the area around Deadwood paid for all the beautiful wood that was used to create the bar and all the other wood one can see in your picture.

All the best on this Mother's Day Diane with many more to come.

The look is the same as many older British pubs today! It's very ornate and you have captured it well. It's also a very pleasing shot of you and Rich.

What a great shot Diane. The bar itself has great character and you did wonders with the available light,
