In the right place at the right time to catch this moment of the young deer crossing the roadway under the watchful eye of the mother deer. I like the low perspective with the relative lightness of the deer's coats set against the darkened green foliage. I find myself wanting to crop up slightly to eliminate the road marker... it draws one's eye away from the deer.

Excellent timing to get this stop action of Mother Deer and her newborn baby and how that baby is struggling to stand up. Especially like the slightly blurred rear hoof showing movement. And that morning light shining across her back and hind quarters adds a perfect highlight touch. As the old saying goes "The early bird gets the work," or in your case "...gets the shot!"

Excellent capture Richard - so glad to hear that the motorists were so considerate, like yourself, and you were rewarded with a good shot. I understand why you kept the road post in the picture.

What a ripper Richard. It would be good enough getting Mum bot not with a fawn so young,

Good capture Richard. They'll be half grown before I get to Richmond to get some. Glad to see you're getting on with the XT1 and 55-200 zoom - an excellent pairing for the parks.
