Every time I see this image I'm reminded of the drive that took me from northern Nevada through Oregon and then on into northern California ending up in Crescent City along the Pacific Ocean. I drove this highway several times mostly east to west at varying times of the year and I was always struck by the sparsely populated nature of the country but at the same time the sense of peacefulness and stark beauty of the rugged landscape.

This picture was taken after turning east from Denio Junction, Nevada and having entered the Sheldon National Antelope Range.

The drive up towards the Oregon border takes one through the Pueblo Mountains with some rather hair rising settings along the highway.

That drive is now on my bucket list. Love the rugged and unspoiled nature of the area in your photo. The sun kissing the distant city and mountains as well as the dried grasses in the forefront give a sense of depth and draw me in.
