This week's theme reminds me that I need to get some newer photographs of the trees growing along the Assiniboine River and Red River here in downtown Winnipeg.


I liked this particular view taken of a tree along the Red River for its strong textural feel and the near abstractive feel created by the bark and the twisted form of the tree (for me there is a seated figure on the right and on the left a horse is neighing).

Intricate looking Jan, I like your processing but the blurred look makes my eyes go funny,

Jan, I feel this is a type of picture where detail is needed, and whilst you have sharpened it I wonder whether the application of the Nik software has degraded the image? The tree pattern looks interesting, but we are not seeing it at it's best.
