I had taken several pictures before the display opened to the public and found the best result was just as the sun was rising with more natural light highlighting the ice formations.


This picture was taken on the opening weekend of the display with a view over the crowds and ice formations towards the Museum for Human Rights. I like the contrast between the colors of the ice and the museum and the darkened winter sky.

This is very theatrical with the people and the fire plus the lighting from below the ice formation. I notice at least two people taking pictures with their mobile phone.
