When spending one week on the island of Texel with children and grandchildren we had 1 rainy day. On our way to do some shopping we made a detour to drive past the harbour. Imagine that some sailing boats were leaving that safe harbour and sail straight into the oncoming storm.
I did quite a bit PP work here. The air was clarified with strength 8 in Paint Shop Pro and then filtered in Neat Image, the harbour itself received a gamma correction up from 1 to 1,2.
Hope you like the effect.
Have a great weekend,
Els

I do indeed like it very much Els. Your talent to know what to do with an image is so far beyond mine. I tried gamma correction and what a mess I made. Your neat image did not quite get to the edge of the rope so i can see a tiny bit of noise left there. I love how everything pulls me to the two little boats sailing off. The sky is magnificent. I find these skies make a much more excitting image that just blue. Excellent.

Hiya Els

Another stunning shot here I really do like your POV and the framing sets the view off to perfection. Even a grey dull day looks wonderful when you shoot it like this. I see the pixelation on the rope on this size but it does not show up when viewing in full size. I might have to look into this as it may be an auto resize issue on the site, please bear with me and I will take a look.

kind regards Helen

Hi Els
The eyes are drawn to the two sail boats which seem to be heading out into what looks like an uncoming storm. A real nice dof, unless its my eyes, I feel it could have used a tad more sharpening.

Ciao Els

Excellent presentation and wonderful visual
I love the atmosphere of this place, the beautiful clouds
ash and heavy, the lightness of these two boats in the water yet
serene and calm.
Without doubt, a very beautiful composition of taste!
Congratulations Els!

Nicely captured Els. Good colour throught the image and the clouds ominous looking. Well done, David

Just playing a bit, but I have to admire the courage of the sialors who sailed right into the bad weather - I hope they knew what they were doing and not some silly tourist taking risks. Several people each year drown because they don't pay attantion to warning signs.
I just told Terry how good it felt to see her here - I feel a bit sick after having to delete my images - something I felt I needed to do - on TL.
Take care and thanks for being here as well.
Els
