The problem with having a macro lens on the front of your camera is you spend a lot of time looking for small things to photograph. I was lurking in the garden looking for subjects and found this bird skull in the undergrowth.
A clean and put in front of a black background, darkened room, lit with a small pen torch for 3 sec.at f22. A little bit of Photoshop later...Fantastic structure.

Great capture...I have a skull just like this, but the beak has broken off now.
Love all the details you have, from the thumbnail it looks like the skull is tatooed!!

Your technique of painting with light has worked very well. Excellent result.

Wow, not the sort of picture you see every day - although I'm not sure I'd have the stomach nor the delicate touch to clean a skull up like this! Great stuff

I like how you have managed this. The delicate little skull is shown very well against the black BG.Good DOF. I have a macro lens which I don't use as much as I should. I will have to keep a watching brief on your macro work to pick up some ideas.

Rob, this is a great macro of the skull. Thanks so much for your remarks about my 'Heart Of The Lily' photograph. Have a great weekend, Bill
