Taken at the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary (they have all sorts of birds of prey, and do some wonderful flying displays). Typical bank holiday weather meant that this was the only chance of getting a shot with any sort of detail - that and the fact that panning at such high speed to follow the bird is all but impossible with a 50-500mm lens!

Superb Mark; I've not many words to speak about perfection... I love the detail of the glove and the falcon «boots», wonderful.
Cheers, mb

My favorite bird of prey here, so incredibly fast. Lovely detail in the feathers here and a nice sharp view of the eyes too. Small shame part of the tail feathers are cropped but overall an excellent shot.
Thanks for posting
Kind regards Helen

Hi Mark,

Wonderful picture, that must be you I see in his eye then - I think I would have used the clonestamp here to create te end of the tail feather and to provide a bit more space at the left side of the picture - in the direction the bird is looking at. Could also be that I just love to play with pictures....

Thanks
Els

A very good pose you caught with perfect exposure. I agree it needs a tad more space on the left but when the bird takes the pose that is what happens. However you have a good background for enlarging the canvas on that side and cloning in the background should you want. A little soft but not inherently so as it does sharpen well in PS.

The only thing needed is a catchlight in the eye .. perfect otherwise
