This is ever so beautiful and I loved your writing of your childhood memories with your mom. I have ones similar. My mom passed in 96 and I still cherish memories and think of her all the time. She got a vase of fresh tulips Friday at the cemetery as I always do. Superb on this image.

Yes mother's day here as well and lovely weather to go with it, so we could be outside with the family.
This is one fantastic flower, the thin purple lines on the white are just stunning.

I really like the angle at which you have captured this beautiful Dhalia and the exposure which has produced such perfect colours. Possibly I would crop tight from the right as the flower faces left but either way this is a superb image.
