...."Sunrise Inside - Neighbor Bill's Old Truck"....

This is the first of a four part series - Part 2 on Saturday - Part 3 for the Theme on Sunday and Part 4 on Monday.

The Story - 'Neighbor Bills Old Truck' - Bill lives SW of us about 1 mile and just in the valley next to the hills to our South. Most of his land is in the hills and is Cow-Calf pasture ground. Bill tells me years ago the old truck just died right here and his wife said leave it there, she did not want it in her yard anymore. Bill looked at me and said, Larry, that was before cell phones and it was a long walk home. I ask if I could take pictures and Bill said, what is mine is yours, you take all the pictures you want. Bills family along with 4 other families homesteaded our valley in the 1870's and 80's.

Thanks, so much, to everyone for looking in to my gallery and special thanks to all who leave thoughts, ideas and comments. -Larry

You certainly got there at the right time of day, using the warm light to maximum benefit. The image is extremely well exposed, showing detail throughout both inside the truck and its surroundings. Good details too. Interesting and captivating image.

A bit of history of your lovely valley and a beautiful warm light in this abandonned truck - nice atmosphere - I envy you that wide open space I can see outside!

While I hate to vehicles dumped and despoiling the countryside I have to admit that when photographing the vehicle you have a great background to contrast it with. Very nice exposure and colour and super textural detail too.

Hi Larry,
Great shot, the lighting is good showing the details inside the old truck and what a great backdrop, I look forward to more of the series.
Well done

Love the early morning light splashing across the old rusted dashboard of this truck. the rust and details tell the story and you captured it all famously.

I like the morning light and shadows on the dashboard. Truck windows provide a good frame for the landscape beyond.
Interesting composition to give us the feeling of being inside the truck.

Larry, a very interesting story and pics to go with it. For some reason, I am really drawn to old rusted out cars and trucks. I always try to imagine what they must have looked like during their hey day. great captures on all pics and excellent exposure
