A Small tortoiseshell butterfly feeding on Sedum. Taken today in my mothers garden, the Sedum was absolutely covered in butterflies and bees and i had a job to isolate this one from the crowd.
I used exposure compensation of -1 to ensure the white areas of the flower and the butterfly's wings were correctly exposed, f9.5 to get it all in focus and the image stabilizer to avoid camera shake.

Excellent shot - especially using a 300mm lens, such fine details in such a small thing - kudos for getting the point of focus just right.
Cheers....Mark

I use the -1 on most things as well. That gives me flexibility in light room to adjust things as well. You have everything here spot on. Everyone has said what I would say so I will just say' Super".

:-) I have quite similar pictures Vic... "same" flower and the same kind of butterfly... a wonderful combination.
Love the sharpness and colors here... a fine job.

Cheers, Anneke

Lovely image, the colour of the butterfly looks good against the flower.
