I know its not the best of shots the sky is a dreadful colour as it was overcast but for some reason I quite like this one. The butterfly was on the side of the flower and I liked the angle here. The cloudy sky worked in your favor I think, as it provides a perfect neutral b/g - and the frame picks up beautifully the color of the flower. The detail, exposure and slight silhouette effect make this a stand-out, but the overall artistic effect is what really caught my eye. Bright overcast conditions are my favorite and are often the best for this sort of shot because the diffused light makes the image less contrasty and tends to give a more even exposure. Even backlit, this one has plenty of detail without being silhouetted. The nice simple composition works well for this subject too.
