Yes it is ugly Helen, but then.. it could be cute. Great detail here and I love the catch light in the top of the eye like that.. Your contrast here shows off the texture of the skin perfectly. Well done dear.

'Ugly' was a very hard theme! It's all relative, isn't it? This looks like a male to me, and I bet his 'bigness' and bright colors are So Attractive to the females! Wonderful dof, detail and color here Helen!

Yes, I'm in agreement - this guy is definitely ugly to me. But then, I'm not a female frog. But I'll say one thing, he definitely is a messy eater - needs to wipe the sand off his mouth before he poses for a photo!!! Good eye, Helen, and wonderful tack sharp details and colors on this "Big Daddy".

I like the slightly upward direction of the shot to give the impression that this guy is bigger then he really is ... it works well.

Change the colours to purple and pink and he reminds me of Bagpuss! Nice low down POV and good angle across the face as opposed to side on or head on, and nice crisp details. But is it ugly?

I don't think he's ugly - I think he's kinda cute!! I like the POV you have gone for here - lovely colours - I can see where Mark is coming from with the Bagpuss comments! Lovely sharp details Helen - great shot.

Hi Helen,
Well, the Spitty shot wasn't ugly enough in the opinion of many  and this one seems to be finding favour with some members too Oh, i don't know!!! I guess i think he's cute too!!! lol
With the cute - ugly issue asside, i think you've done really well to get such a good pose for the shot, i like the way his front feet point inwards and the sand on his face makes me wonder..... who dropped him on his face when they put him there?
