Tennyson and Karen at a one day event at Tyrella, early spring in Northern Ireland. The sun was shining and it was a good day.
Tennyson is one of my favourite charges. He has so much presence and just knows he is 'the man'. He came from a yard in Ireland that was very hard on him physically and emotionally. Karen has done a masterful job with bringing him around and having him learn to trust again.
To allow him to let go of his past traumas his stable name was changed to Tennyson, after a famous Irish poet. The poet was a bit of a rascal and so is Tennyson.
He has blossomed into his own and absolutely loves cross country. Ears pricked and ready to go.
Is is so heartwarming to watch horses compete and to be part of their world.

PP work. Perhaps I should have cloned out the fence official. Very hard to get shots without officials, jeeps or spectators in the way.
Taken with my point and shoot, so definate limitations for action shots.

Perfect as is Joni, the spectator adds to the shot. Once again good 'freezing' with the trusty point and shoot,

Hello Joni.
Yes, thats what I meant, not easy to make a perfect shot on the right moment.
The action it good but there is a slight blurr in the picture, think it can be the shutterspeed.
Cheers from Jan

I like the spectator in the picture, and the horse is again caught at the perfect moment of the jump. Excellent composition, and great story as well - heartwarming to know that this horse has been given a chance to reach his full potential.

The pov and the action make this shot Joni. We can't always carry the big camera around so capturing a shot like this is great. Looks a long way down into that water, poor fellow. Great informative notes.

Joni, Hi:

Photography of this sport is a real challenge and very rewarding, as well. Your work is well seen and presented. I hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks

You chose the right pov to make an excellent action shot. I was moved by your notes about Tennyson. Well captured.
Hope you have a great 2010.
Bob
