When you are travelliing you often can not go back to a particular place, so when it is raining and you are standing in the shadow of a mountain and you still don't know how to use the settings on your camera, you can end up with a picture that is not that pretty. So I decided to turn it into B&W, then add not only a few % red and yellow, but also a bit of green to get that timeless feeling you will have when standing in a place like this.
This one was made with the help of my Konica Minolta. ISO 100 (I could have used a higher ISO), shutterspeed 1/125, F 10, focal length 30mm.
Despite the technical imperfections I still thought this place would be worthy of sharing.

You have captured the magnitude and awe with your use of the black and white, Els. Your ISO has given you some pretty spectacular detail. Composition is perfect, to give us that feeling of the mountains towering over us, and the lake at our feet. Wouldn’t this be a splendid place to live. I like the use of the adjustments to the colours to give it the pop. Personally I think this is wonderful. Well done.

Hi Wanda,

Those Lofoten Island and especially the southernmost part where this picture was taken- are spectacular. One of those places you can dream about. If not for our children and grandchildren we probably would not have lived in the Netherlands anymore. Norway sure is a very good country as for it's friendly population, lack of air polution, good health care system and so on. I think Canadian people would feel right at home, because lots of it's landscape reminded me of BC.
Thanks Wanda!

Hi Els

What a magnificent view this is! wonderful tones you have achieved, and I agree it has an alsmot timeless feel. The detail is wonderful and I find mysef constantly drawn to the detail in the rockrace on the right. very neat and effective framing compliments this shot very nicely too.
