This is just amazing. No noise at ISO 1250 pays to have a good camera! I love everthing about this Howard, the colours the DOF and the buterfly frozen in action. Just lovely - well done

What fantastic stop action. So this is what a fast lens can do!! (I'm trying to learn..) Surprised that you also get such a nice OOF b/g with an F stop of 11. Just beautiful Howard. Looks like it's 'levitating.'

I am not really a butterfly person but credit where credit is due, fantastic clarity and exposure with a beautiful OOF background and wonderful colours

Not a "butterfly" person? Well I'll make note of that ;-)
I shoot what's at hand around here..I've always liked the challenge of shooting b-flies in flight..And once in a great while, you capture something that evokes feelings or emotion in the viewer. The b-flies have a certain "grace" of movement that is hard to define, but has universal appeal.

I do like butterflies but I have tried several times to capture one without success .. maybe a trip to a butterfly house as they all seem a little dozier in these places Smile we don't seem to have the most colourful ones here in the UK anyway .

Thanks for checking out my "Bambi" pic. Howard. Yes you are quite right about the subject being central. I`ve been told this on several of my pics, something I will try to get out of. Cropping will help yes and the foliage on the left is a distraction. I`ll leave as is, as it will be a reminder to me as to the wrong way of taking a decent pic. This site is the best I must say for beginners like myself. When accomplished photographers like yourself take the time to hand out invaluable tips it is rather comforting. Thamks again Howard. All the pics. of butterflies and such that you have on this site are absolutely gorgeous. The colours are something else. Take care.......Charlie.
