Taken shortly before Mick's similar B+W version. As you can see I was determined to get a better angle on the train so I jumped out and ran alongside while taking this picture.
Actually the carriage I was on - about 4 back from these - was still on what you see here as an empty line to the right of the train - the engine and first 5 carriages had already changed tracks. Apologies for my absence of late due to sickness and annual tax accounts.

I like it coloured! Not nearly so bleak looking. Excellent pov with nice leading lines and very good composition. Love that full head of steam! Nice to have you back Vic. Hope you're feeling much better. Fantastic shot!

Sorry to hear you've been ill but so good to have you back. I love the POV on this capture with the train curving around to complete the symmetry. Looks a little hazy - is that part of the steam from the train drifting over in front of you?

Certainly better viewpoint than mine Vic.It looks more hospitable in colour too that's for sure. You seem to have less mist on the hill behind too ..A very nice shot taken in the most awful conditions mate.

Those were clearly not the best of conditions yet you still managed to come away with a richly detailed and interesting image. Well done. Hope you're feeling better.

I am nopt sure that I could be that didicated to run along side of the train. Running is not sometrhing that my short fat bald body does well. As for the photograph I really like it.

I like the pale colours the weather produced Vic. Nicely composed and fine detail,
Dave
