Late afternoon sun on Dundalk Bay, with the tide out, the sun shining on the vegetation in the distance and blue, blue mountains. The bay is very shallow here and not navigatible for boats. There is a clearly defined channel closer to the mountains.

I spent a lot of time this summer walking with Lea and our doggies on the flats when the tide was out.

Hi Joni.
The blue mist, although found in other places always seems evocative of Irish hills to me and here it contrasts well against the sunlit mid-ground. It was a good idea to include the foreground rocks and water to give more depth to the shot. If I were to make any change it would be to crop up to half of the grass mound on the R (from the R) because the semi-letterbox format of this picture makes my eyes wander off the image to the right. That's probably just a personal thing.

Hi Joni, just took a look at your web page (impressive),Is this Dundalk Bay in Ireland ?
The reason I ask is that from your website I was led to believe you lived in the USA.Anyway this is a very good shot with the row boat placed perfectly and the misty mountains to the rear adding a fine backdrop to a very pleasant scene.

Hello Joni.
Yeh... Grass is always greener by nieghtbors.
But the blue of the mountains suits this picture very well.
Cheers from Jan

Inclusion of the boat lifts this significantly. I love small details within a larger scene.

Lovely scene, well captured. I, too, like the inclusion of the boat. Very nice.

Hi Joni. Excellent for the theme! Love the contrast between the flats and the distant mountains. The colors are beautiful, and add a lot of interest, along with the fine details. Well done. (And thanks for the 'wishes!')

Joni, this is a beautiful shot. I like the way the mountains look like they are layered. Thanks so much for your kind words about my 'Heart Of The Lily' photo. I appreciate it. Have a great weekend, Bill
