These two terriers belong to Edward, the son of my friend , Nicola. Edward works for a local farmer part time, when not in school, and these two rascals go everywhere with him—on the tractor, in the car and helping out around the yard. They are his erstwhile companions.

Edward is currently on a gap year in Australia working at a polo yard and is really homesick for Northern Ireland, (as I am), and missing his companions. I thought I would send him a shot of his doggies to cheer him up.

This chair on the upstairs landing of Nicola’s home seems to be a favourite resting place.

Two misplaced humans. I know this syndron well. I have a black lab that is also a misplaced human. Beauty of a shot.

I like the quality of the eyes (the catchlights) which helps to focus the attention of the viewer on the dogs. The contrast between their dark coats and the lightness of the chair and blanket helps to make the two dogs visually stand out in the image. I'm wondering if a tighter cropping from the right and left edges to just the chairs would have heightened the impact of the image?

There's a very homely feel to this shot - two dogs obviously in the place they feel comfortable. I don't think the colours (black and white effectively) and the lighting have done you any favours, and you've managed the exposure quite well in the circumstances.
Cheers....Mark

Hello Joni.
You a nice picture to send to the owner.
imo, a bit more shadow/contrast will help to make it more 'sharper'.

Agree with Jan's crop idea. That would take care of most of the OE. Good detail in the dogs. They look a little lonely for Edward.. How nice of you to send him this pic!

Hi Joni,
Lovely shot of these two little rascals Smile Yep, the white sheet has given you some exposure problems, Looks like the cream coloured chair without the sheet would have given a better exposure but i'm sure Edward will be happy to see his chums.
Nice one Joni.
Regards
Vic.
