Lots of movement here with good color and PP work on the shadows to create an even exposure. The sky's a bit boring but I prefer this to a "replacement." I think you've used your panninng technique. Personally, I'd prefer those background hills in focus though. Still, it makes me want to wander the hills with you.

hello Vic,
Hard enough of an action shot to catch and you have done well. I know the area well having spent a lot of time there working with horses. Great colours and I like the movement coming into the frame. Nicely done! Joni

Good shuttertime used. The movement of the horse legs are telling the speed.

I love the sense of dynamism here with the horses looking like they are bursting in to the frame.
Cheers.....Mark

I like the sense of action that is created by the forms of the horses set against the blurred nature of the background, the sense of energy that is created by the horses and by the riders, and all those horses' legs which works to enhance the both of action and energy that is evoked in the picture.

The 1/60 shutter speed gave you the perfect blend of detail and blur to create a dynamic action shot. And good that there is plenty of space in front of those horses as they race across your frame. Personally I like the dof showing the detail where it needs to be, with everything else blurred and adding to the sense of speed. Excellent shot!

Energy, movement and a real feeling that these animals are going somewhere fast! Fantastic shot -and you remembered to keep space for them to move into.
A well done capture!

Vic...
The technical excellence of this image is superb, and best revealed when viewed in the large size which allows one to see the clarity and detail of the riders who are caught in perfect 'stop action' while their mounts surge forward in full stride. wonderful capture!!

Just happened to see this absolutely stunning capture you took of the stable girls galloping along. Such a perfectly composed capture. Your photo is truly such an inspiration for me to improve and try different techniques. (any chance I could be adopted?)
