Still with the stormy light but sunlight too here and windy as you can see from the grasses.
The image is straight but the windmill is suffering from a little subsidence in this boggy soil. My taking position is on the bank of the River Ant which is higher than the surrounding land and the windmill was actually a pump for draining the land into the river.

Ominous skies and such gentle colors in the foreground. Outstanding.

The contrast between that of the stormy sky and the highlighted (nearly saturated) nature of the landscape works to create a sense of visual balance between the top portion and the bottom portion of the image. The contrast between windmill and the darkened nature of the stormy sky serves to make that particular structure stand out strongly in the image. Fresh is the adjective I was trying to find as to the feel of the landscape.

I love the eerie "just before the storm" l;ighting here giving rich saturation and your signature finite details. Super capture, Vic.

Two excellent images, Vic. My preference would be for this one due to the windmill which provides a focal point which seems to be lacking in the other. In both cases you've done a superb job capturing that unique stormlight.

Vic, Hi:

I like this very much. Your compostion shows the storm moving in and the strength of the wind. The colors and details of the towers are very nicely done. Beautiful work.

Thanks

I agree that this is the better of the two shots for the reason Paul states regarding focal point. The broody sky and the light that always seems to precede a storm is amazing .I do like how the light emphasises the red Hawthorn berries.

This is what I'm talking about - Yes, there's the great focal point, but the contrast between the windmill/forground and the dark sky is much more pronounced, and very effective. Great colours and wonderful details.

Those hawthorn berries really stand out Vic as does the mill against that angry sky. Nicely composed with good detail in the distant trees,
Dave
